BLT Turkey Burgers

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl combine panko, milk, shallot, mustard, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add ground turkey; mix well. Form into four 1/2-inch-thick patties. Wrap a bacon slice around each patty.
  2. Grill on the rack of a covered grill directly over medium heat 11 to 13 minutes or until turkey is done (165 degrees F) and bacon is crisp, turning once.
  3. In a small bowl stir together mayonnaise and ground chile pepper. Serve each burger on a ciabatta half with mayo, lettuce, and tomato.

We thought these turkey burgers were very tasty and for that they received 5 stars. However, there was no way you would be able to get the bacon around the burger let alone grill it. These were the goopiest burgers I have ever made. I ended up cooking them on the stove top and cooking the bacon separately and adding them to the top of the burger. This is definitely a knife and fork meal.
