In a medium skillet cook ground beef and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat.
Stir in refried beans, salsa, undrained chile peppers, beer, chili powder, and garlic. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes or until desired consistency. Serve the meat mixture in toasted buns. Makes 6 servings.
