  • In a 1-1/2-quart slow cooker, stir together meat; onion; sweet pepper; undrained tomatoes; undrained chili beans with chili gravy; broth; chipotle chile peppers, chipotle chili powder, or crushed red pepper; garlic salt; cumin; and oregano.

  • Cover. If cooker has heat setting choices, cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 8 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours. If cooker does not have heat setting choices, cook for 5 to 6 hours. If desired, substitute 8 ounces ground beef or pork for the boneless beef top round steak or boneless pork shoulder. In a medium skillet, brown ground meat; drain off fat before using.

  • Brush tortilla lightly with cooking oil. Heat a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add tortilla; cook about 1 minute or until bottom is golden and crisp. Turn tortilla over; sprinkle with cheese. Cook about 1 minute more or until bottom is golden and crisp and cheese is melted. Cut into wedges.
