Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan heat water and salt to boiling. Add wild rice; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Stir in long grain rice. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes more or until all rice is tender.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan combine undrained tomatoes, basil, thyme, pepper, and garlic. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until mixture is very thick. Remove from heat.
  4. Add tomato mixture to rice; mix well. Serve at once. Garnish each serving with yogurt, if desired.
