  • In a bowl stir together plain fat-free Greek yogurt; thinly sliced green onion, snipped fresh basil, and fat-free milk; clove garlic, salt; and a dash cayenne pepper. Stir in seeded, chopped cucumber and finely chopped red sweet pepper.

Mint-Lemon Yogurt Sauce

Use fresh mint for the basil and seeded, chopped roma tomatoes for the sweet pepper; add 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest.

Cilantro-Chipotle Yogurt Sauce

Use fresh cilantro for the basil, increase garlic to 2 cloves, omit cayenne pepper and cucumber, increase sweet pepper to 1 cup, and add 1 to 2 teaspoons finely chopped chipotle pepper in adobo sauce.

Tomato-Chive Yogurt Sauce

Use fresh chives for the basil, omit cucumber, and use 1 cup quartered red and/or yellow grape tomatoes for the sweet pepper. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish and 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper.

Serving Suggestion

Spoon over grilled salmon, drizzle over meat kabobs, top fish tacos, or thin and drizzle over steak salad.
