This basil cocktail is an elegant twist on the lemon drop martini. Vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and fresh basil combine to make this lemon drop cocktail the life of the party. Serve over ice and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh basil leaves

  • 3 cup vodka

  • 1 ½ cup lemon juice

  • 1 ½ cup simple syrup*

  • Ice cubes

Directions

  1. Muddle basil leaves in a large pitcher. Stir in vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Serve over ice.

For simple syrup, in a small saucepan combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Chill until ready to use. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
