In a medium bowl combine graham cracker crumbs and sugar; add butter and mix well. Press into a foil-lined 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Chill 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Cut cookie dough into 1/2-inch slices; arrange on crumb crust and press together to make an even layer. Unwrap candies and arrange evenly in dough, pressing lightly. Sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center of cookie (not into a candy) comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes about 45 bite-size or 12 large bars.
