Directions

  1. Trim fat from chops. Place chops in a resealable plastic bag set in a shallow dish. For marinade, in a small bowl combine peanut oil, 1/4 cup honey, soy sauce, rice wine, ginger, five-spice powder, and sesame oil. Pour marinade over chops. Seal bag; turn to coat chops. Marinate in the refrigerator for 4 to 12 hours, turning occasionally.
  2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Drain chops, reserving 1/4 cup of the marinade. Place chops in an ungreased 3-quart rectangular baking dish. Arrange apples around chops. Drizzle apples with the reserved 1/4 cup marinade; sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.
  3. Bake, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Add green onion pieces. Bake, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes more or until chops are cooked through and apples are tender. Divide chops and apples among serving plates. Drizzle apples with 1 tablespoon honey. If desired, sprinkle with thinly sliced green onions and additional cinnamon.
