Though this pizza skips the tomato sauce, ricotta cheese makes a creamy base you'll be dreaming about until the next pizza night. White pizza doesn't have the red sauce that traditional pizza has. Instead, it has layers of cheese, as with our recipe, or an olive oil base. Some recipes swap the red sauce for a creamy béchamel or Alfredo sauce. How to Customize Air-Fryer White Pizza While this recipe is delicious as is, it's understandable that you'll want to add your favorite pizza toppings, too. This white pizza goes well with chopped cooked chicken, julienned sun-dried tomatoes, sliced fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach, crumbled cooked bacon, artichokes, ham, or roasted garlic. Cook Mode (Keep screen awake) Ingredients 1 recipe Food Processor Pizza Dough 2 tablespoon olive oil ¾ cup whole milk ricotta cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz.) 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper ½ teaspoon sea salt flakes 2 tablespoon chopped fresh basil Honey (optional) Food Processor Pizza Dough Olive oil or nonstick cooking spray 2 cup all-purpose flour 1 package active dry yeast 1 teaspoon sugar ½ teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon olive oil ⅔ cup warm water (105°F to 115°F) Directions Pre-Cook the Pizza Dough Preheat air fryer at 375°F. Divide the pizza dough into four 4-oz. portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll one portion of dough into an 8-inch circle. Prick all over with a fork. Place in air-fryer basket and cook for 3 minutes. Remove from basket and place, top side down, on work surface. Add Toppings Drizzle crust lightly with 1 1/2 tsp. of the oil and spread with 3 tbsp. of the ricotta cheese. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese, 1/4 tsp. of the crushed red pepper, and 1/8 tsp. of the salt. Return pizza to air-fryer basket and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden. Repeat with remaining dough and toppings. Garnish Before serving, sprinkle pizzas with basil and, if desired, drizzle with honey. Food Processor Pizza Dough Mix Dough Coat a medium bowl with nonstick cooking spray; set aside. In a food processor combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. With the food processor running, add olive oil and warm water. Process until a dough forms. Remove and shape into a smooth ball. Place dough in the prepared bowl; turn once to coat dough surface. Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Let stand in a warm place until doubled in size (45 to 60 minutes). For a delicious garlic-herb crust, add 1 Tbsp. dried Italian seasoning, crushed, and 2 cloves garlic, minced, to the flour mixture when preparing the dough. How to Make Air-Fryer White Pizza Ahead At this point, the dough portions can be placed in a storage container that has been lightly coated with nonstick cooking spray or brushed with olive oil. Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Or place each dough portion in a freezer bag that has been lightly coated with nonstick cooking spray or brushed with olive oil. Seal, label, and freeze up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator before using.
