The folks at Unbirthday Bakery in Sydney, Australia, have one motto -- no fondant allowed. They build incredibly intricate cake creations (as well as macarons and cupcakes) that blow any regular birthday cake out of the water. These are the birthday cakes we can't take our eyes off of.
We don't think we'd oppose having a cake with this flower-and-piping situation over the whole surface, but this tasteful crescent is definitely sufficient.
