9/26/18 The semiannual design event of the year is here. The One Room Challenge (ORC) social media event kicks off October 3 and is about to blow up your Instagram feed with loads of design inspiration—and we are thrilled to be the media partner for this fall’s challenge.
The ORC began in 2011 when Linda Weinstein arranged for a group of friends to hold each other accountable as they each finished tackling just one room in their homes. The challenge has since turned into a highly anticipated design event that takes place each spring and fall. Each season highlights the work of a select group of 20 talented design influencers as well as a number of guest participants. Now in its 14th season, the ORC encourages and inspires design enthusiasts as it celebrates creativity and originality.
On Wednesday, October 3, this fall’s 20 featured designers will reveal the space/s they have selected and their plans to overhaul them. Every Wednesday for the following six weeks they will share the progress they’ve made and the challenges they’re facing—all culminating with the big reveal on Wednesday, November 7. Guest participants share their projects each Thursday, with kickoff on Thursday, October 4, and the final reveal on Sunday, November 11.
Follow us and One Room Challenge on Instagram as we share some of the ORC highlights over the next six weeks. You can also follow #oneroomchallenge and #BHGORC so you don’t miss a single post. And be sure to check back here for the full recap of all 20 spaces on November 7. We can’t wait to see the jaw-dropping transformations!
There are some familiar names in this season’s designer lineup including a number of veteran designers as well as two previous guest participants, Nicole from Vestige Home and Erin Kestenbaum (who were selected to be featured designers this season). At the end of this challenge, we’ll select the two guest participants who will automatically get to participate as featured designers in the Spring 2019 ORC.
