Snickers Is Giving Out One Million Candy Bars for Free This Halloween
The promotion stems from an online petition to change Halloween to the last Saturday in October.
Even if you're a bit too old to go trick-or-treating, Snickers is ensuring you have plenty of candy to satisfy your sweet tooth this Halloween. The candy company is giving out one million mini bars for free—and you can get a part of the prize.
All you have to do, as long as you're 16 years of age or older, is head on over to OneMillionSnickers.com to receive an electronic Walmart gift card that's good for one bag of Snickers Fun Size. A 10.59 ounce bag, which contains 18 bars, retails for $3.90 at the super store. This offer is available until October 31 or while supplies last. However, due to extreme demand, Snickers is periodically having to "refill its candy bowl," and during this time it won't be giving out gift cards. If you go to the website and see this message, check back later to check when the goodies have been replenished.
This promotion started after Snickers joined a debate that started from a Change.org petition asking the federal government to change Halloween to the last Saturday in October rather than October 31 each year. Snickers says the new date would "encourage a longer, safer, and more fun holiday," and pledged one million free candy bars if the date was changed. Although the request wasn't successful, Snickers is still giving away the candy.
"We promised a million Snickers, and regardless of the date, we're going to deliver, "Josh Olken, Brand Director on Snickers says in a news release. "Whether fans enjoy their free Snickers themselves or hand them out to trick-or-treaters, we want everyone to have a satisfying Halloween."
With Snickers being one of the most popular Halloween candies, and the metaphorical candy bowl already running out a couple of times, we don't think this deal will last long. We recommend checking the website often to try to snag your free bag.
