Gone are the days of frying your favorite snacks in oil or dousing them with butter to boot. The healthy living buzz has quickly amplified into a movement no chef can ignore.

With increased consumer interest in wellness comes a demand for healthier ways to prepare food. That’s where GE saw an opportunity to combine one of today’s hottest countertop appliances with a classic kitchen staple. Enter the GE Profile 7000 Series wall oven, the first built-in wall oven that doubles as an air fryer.

“An air fryer can reduce the amount of fat and calories in your food, allowing people and families to eat healthier,” said Paul Bristow, GE Appliances executive director of product management for built-in cooking, in a press release. “The benefit of an air fryer is that oil is replaced by a fan that blows hot air down onto the food, delivering a cleaner and healthier cooking experience with a crispy result that gives a great crunch.”

Consumer Reports reports that in 12 months alone, 4 million stand-alone air fryers were sold. That’s 4 million Americans committing to a healthy lifestyle. But who has room on their crowded countertops for yet another small kitchen appliance? Although there are plenty of ways to conceal bulky appliances, nothing beats having an air fryer ready to use at any time without taking up precious counter space.

This smart oven joins a similar line of smart Café appliances, including the impressive Café refrigerator with a built-in Keurig dispenser. Like the refrigerator, the GE Profile wall oven is also WiFi-connected. Users with popular voice-command devices like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant are able to preheat the oven from afar or make sure the oven is turned off.

The GE Profile wall oven even has a dehydrate mode, which is great for making healthy-alternative snacks. So, after you’re done eating air fryer crispy coconut shrimp, you can end the day with dried apple, strawberry, and kiwi chips for dessert.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a little longer to get a GE Profile 7000 Series wall oven in your home. They’ll be available in April 2019 in two sizes and cost $2,749-$3,849.

Although the price is high, we think you’ll be satisfied with your purchase after your first bite of guilt-free French fries.
