Calling All Hallmark Fans: You Need This Countdown to Christmas Board Game
Hallmark is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Countdown to Christmas with a brand new board game designed to test your movie knowledge.
Over the last decade, we’ve gone all-out celebrating the Hallmark Christmas movie season: We played the Hallmark fantasy game, brewed the official Countdown to Christmas tea, and tuned in to Hallmark’s 24/7 Christmas radio station. We’ve even played a version of the Hallmark movie drinking game!
This year, Hallmark Channel is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their iconic Countdown to Christmas program, and they’re doing something big. Over the summer, the network approved a Countdown to Christmas board game—and it’s available for pre-order right now.
The game is available through Bundle, a custom board game company that’s been in the market since 2017. The company was founded by two sisters, Cassie and Jacklyn Collier (Jacklyn is also an actress who appears in the upcoming fall Hallmark film Love, Fall and Order) who approached Hallmark about producing the game this summer.
"I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than getting to play a game all about Countdown to Christmas with fellow fans," said Jacklyn. "I love being a part of this community.”
The sisters told us that about 50% of their board game sales are for custom games, and over the last two years they noticed a large number of requests for custom Hallmark movie games—so they pitched the idea to Hallmark, who decided this was the perfect way to commemorate the program’s anniversary.
"Both Bundle and Crown Media have a passion for bringing joy and happiness to people," said Cassie. "It is the perfect partnership for us.”
The game is played on a red and green cloth board and includes 83 trivia cards about Hallmark’s classic Christmas films through the years. Players will choose cards from one of four categories, which will instruct them to do things like act out a movie title, name four Christmas carols, or describe your dream Hallmark movie cast.
Like all of Bundle’s games, the fabric board is designed to be folded up with the rules, cards and game pieces and stored in a red drawstring bag. It can be pre-ordered for $35, and is estimated to be delivered by the end of the month—just in time for the October 25 start date of this year’s Countdown to Christmas. The game will also be available at a number of Hallmark Gold Crown stores this fall: Check out Bundle’s website for the full list of participating locations.
No matter how you do it, the official start to Hallmark Christmas movie season is definitely something to celebrate.
