They’re the first new permanent flavor M&M has released since 2017.

Just like Oreo, M&M is known for experimenting with tasty new flavors, like white cheesecake, hot cocoa, and orange vanilla cream. But now, hot on the heels of the release of their new Mexican jalapeno flavor, M&M is bringing another tasty new flavor to stores nationwide in April. Inspired by chocolatey Nutella, M&M’s new Hazelnut Spread flavor is set to hit stores in just a few weeks.

The new flavor will have the same chocolate shell we all know and love, but there’ll be a creamy hazelnut spread filling past that first layer of chocolate. Based on the packaging, it looks like the inside is going to be gooey and delicious, just like regular Nutella. If they’re as good as they sound, they might just become our favorite M&M flavor ever.

Luckily, if you’re desperate to try them, you don’t have to wait until they appear on shelves in April. You can already order a sharing size pack on the M&M’s website for $3.99, which is totally worth it for serious hazelnut spread lovers.

You can also score an early taste of them by participating in M&M’s “Go Hazelnutty for M&M’s Hazelnut Spread” event this weekend. The company will have a stand open in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal where you can snag a pack (but you might have to work for it). And if you’re not in the city, you win an early pack of Hazelnut Spread M&M’s by expressing your excitement for the new flavor on Twitter with the hashtags #gohazelnutty, #MMSfirsttaste, and #sweepstakes. Winners will have an exclusive pack of Hazelnut Spread M&M’s shipped to them before the nationwide release.

And while we certainly understand the desire to be the first one to give them a try, there’s no rush. M&M has announced that Hazelnut Spread is going to be a new permanent flavor, so once they hit stores, they’ll be here to stay. It’s the first new permanent flavor to join the line since M&M’s Caramel was released in 2017, so it’s no wonder M&M is kicking off their arrival with a nationwide celebration.
