Winter weather can be brutal on your extremities, and some days, snow boots and wool socks just won’t cut it. Your best defense against frostbitten feet this season: electric heated socks.

Warm your chronically cold feet all winter long with these electric heated socks from Amazon. Powered by two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, they contain a heating element in the front instep that works like a heated blanket to deliver warmth straight to your frigid toes. The battery pack, which connects to an AC charger, slips into a side pocket along the calf.

Made of breathable cotton spandex, these foot warmers are quick-drying and insulated with three layers for long-lasting warmth. According to the product description, they’re ideal for cold-weather activities like snowboarding, skiing, hiking, camping, shoveling snow, or working outside.

The socks are equipped with three heat settings, so you can adjust the temperature according to your preference. On the highest heat setting—which warms up to 122°F—the sock’s batteries will last around three hours, according to the product description. The medium setting offers 75% heat and lasts up to five hours, while the lowest setting can stay on for about six hours.

However, some customers report an even longer battery life. "The lowest setting is usually enough to get me through the day and they last about 7-8 hours on a full charge if you completely drain them and recharge them every night like I do," one Amazon reviewer writes. "A great investment if you work in cold storage or just a harsh winter environment, period."

According to another reviewer, comfort isn't a concern, as the "pouches are snug enough and socks are comfortable even with batteries installed." And, thanks to the multilayered design, these are "warm, thick socks even when not powered up."

Available in black, gray, green, and pink, the unisex socks cost $42.98 and make a great gift idea for that loved one with perpetually cold feet. Though technically machine-washable (once the batteries have been removed), the manufacturer suggests handwashing to best protect the heating elements.

During your next snow-shoveling session or an afternoon on the ski slopes, these socks will be your best friend.
