Lauren Landers is a freelance writer and gardening enthusiast with a passion for sustainability, pollinators, and organic gardening. After graduating from college, Lauren ran a small 2-acre organic farm for 3 years, before dedicating herself to writing full-time. With over 10 years of professional writing experience, Lauren hopes to inspire others to garden more, grow their own organic food, and create pollinator friendly outdoor spaces.

A nature enthusiast and garden lover, Lauren is dedicated to sustainable living and organic gardening. With hands-on experience running a small organic farm, Lauren has continued her education by pursuing the Master Gardener Volunteer Training at the University of Maine.

Lauren is a full-time freelance writer and her work has appeared on a number of beekeeping, sustainability, homesteading and gardening websites. She is also the owner of Zero Waste Homestead, a blog focused on conscious living and organic gardening.

A life-long gardener, Lauren has recently been focusing her attention on the healing powers of gardening and food security. She also strives to encourage backyard gardeners to create pollinator habitats and eco-friendly outdoor spaces.


Lauren studied English and history at Endicott College and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also received the Senior Thesis Award for her exploration into folklore and literary studies. After moving to Maine, she enrolled in the Master Gardener Volunteer program at the University of Maine.
