Her book, Gardening with Native Plants in the Upper Midwest: Bringing the Tallgrass Prairie Home, was published by the University of Iowa Press in 2016. Education Judy earned her B.A. in literature with a minor in art at Kirkland College (now Hamilton College) in Clinton, NY. She earned her M.A. in Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Mass Communications at Syracuse University. She earned her A.S. in Horticulture with an emphasis in landscape design at Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids, IA.
