Jason Sheeler is People’s Deputy West Coast Editor, where he writes cover stories — recently Lizzo, Linda Evangelista,  and Ricky Martin — and features across all content verticals. Based in Los Angeles, also helms the brand’s annual Pride Issue. Sheeler is also the co-host and producer of People’s podcast, PEOPLE in the 90s. Previously, he served as Style Director for Departures magazine. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Sheeler has also served in senior editorial positions at Entertainment Weekly, Glamour, and Texas Monthly. His work has also appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, The Hollywood Reporter, and Air Mail. Sheeler grew up in Arkansas and, incidentally, his first job was answering fan mail for Bill and Hillary Clinton’s cat, Socks, from the basement of the White House.

Experience

Sheeler has worked in journalism since 2007, starting with such regional publications as The Dallas Morning News and Texas monthly. He then worked for several national publications such as Glamour, Entertainment Weekly, and Departures before landing in his current role with PEOPLE magazine as their Deputy West Coast Editor and Podcast Host.
