What You'll Need:

  • 10 cm square double-sided lightweight colored paper (outside)
  • 10 cm square lightweight patterned paper (inside)
  • Pencil
  • Bone folder

Step 1: Form square

Use pencil to lightly label the paper sides A and B. With the A side facing up, fold the 10 cm square of double-sided colored paper in half, then unfold. Rotate paper 90°. Fold in half again and unfold.

Step 2: Fold back

Turn paper over so B side faces up. Fold up bottom edge, even with center fold line, then unfold. Repeat fold on remaining three sides. Unfold.

Step 3: Continue folding

Fold up bottom edge to meet first fold line from top. Unfold. Repeat fold on remaining three sides. Unfold.

Step 4: Begin to form box

Fold up bottom edge 90% to meet first fold line from bottom. Fold folded edge again to meet next fold line. Repeat folds on top edge.

Step 5: Continue to form shape

Fold bottom left corner over to meet center fold on opposite side. Referring to the diagram, crease halfway through diagonal edge. Unfold. Repeat folds on remaining three corners.

Step 6: Pop up box

Pop up point where diagonal folds meet from the backside (side A) of paper and flip the folded sides up, creating a pinched end. Repeat on opposite end.

Step 7: Create candy shape

Push both ends toward the center to create the candy wrapper shape.

Step 8: Fold ends

Fold a diagonal fold on one pinched end so the wrapper end points down. Fold an opposite diagonal fold on the opposite pinched end.

Step 10: Finish box

Open one pinched end and push the fold through the center of the V-shape portion down and pinch the ends back together. Repeat on opposite pinched end. Adjust folds to face out.
