What You'll Need:

  • Black felt
  • Ruler
  • Black pen
  • Scissors
  • White felt
  • Hot-glue gun
  • Printed initials (3 inches by 1.5 inches)
  • Pins

Step 1: Cut felt

Fold a piece of black felt in half lengthwise. Using a ruler, mark a line from the folded tip to the bottom corner. This will form the elongated triangle for the pennant. Cut along the mark.

Step 2: Add details

Cut a piece of felt 9 inches by 1/2 inch. Cut four pieces of white felt 2-1/2 inches by 1/2 inch. Glue the longer piece of felt on the long edge of the pennant. Trim the edges. Glue the short pieces of felt to the back side long edge of pennant to make little flag ends.

Step 3: Trace initials

Pin the white felt on top of the printed letters. Trace the initials onto the white felt. You can also freehand draw your letters. Cut out the letters. Try a word or phrase instead of initials for a Valentine's Day message.

Step 4: Attach letters

Once your letters are cut, use a hot-glue gun to adhere the letters to the felt flag. Press gently to ensure they're secure, and let dry completely before hanging.
