Trace around the edge of the plate on the backside of your fabric. You'll want to be as close to plate as possible, but ensure there is enough fabric to cover. Also make sure to prep the backside of plate. Wash the plate and dry it completely. Use rubbing alcohol to remove any soap or oils. This will allow the glue to adhere better. Cut a bit bigger than the circle you traced, just outside of the pencil line.
Apply a layer of decoupage to the patterned side of fabric. Do not use an excess amount. This will ensure the fabric adheres without streaks or lines. We find a foam brush works best to ensure even but light coverage.
Lay the patterned side (decoupaged side) of fabric on the bottom of glass plate and smooth with hands. This helps remove any air bubbles or streaks of decoupage that may appear. Allow to dry for a few hours. Once completely dry, use sharp scissors to trim the edges of fabric around of plate.
Apply a coat of decoupage to the bottom of fabric. Allow to dry overnight. Refer to the information on the dishwasher-safe decopauge for coating instructions. Apply multiple coats, but let dry at least 2 hours between layers.
