Funny Pumpkin Carving Project
Design a funny pumpkin for your Halloween porch. Our big-eyed jack-o'-lantern is hilarious -- and fun to carve as well as display. Get the kids involved, too; this pumpkin design is made for creative little ones.
This Halloween, give your pumpkin its own costume. All you need is a pencil, fine-tooth saw, scissors, a small paintbrush, paint, paper or foam, small plastic cups, hot glue, and a marker. To start your funny pumpkin, decide on the placement of the eyes and mouth. Use a pencil to sketch onto the pumpkin if you'd like. Cut a hole from the bottom and clean out the pulp and seeds. Use a fine-tooth saw to cut out your openings. Take your time making smooth cuts, especially around the curves of the mouth. Paint the outside of clear plastic cups in bright colors to form the base of the eyes. Next, cut large white circles and smaller black circles from craft's foam or paper. To make the eyeballs, draw veins using a red sharpie and attach the circles together. Hot glue the eyes onto the painted eyeballs, then glue to the top of the pumpkin. An easy-to-make monster can add a little mischief to your Halloween décor.
