Rawhide Monster

This pumpkin has gone to the dogs! Turn to your puppy's treat stash for this ghoulish look.

To create, carve a face into the pumpkin. We chose a scary smile with triangular eyes, a round nose, and a wide grin. Drill small holes in the side for the ears. Next, insert purchased rawhides into the nose, mouth, and ears. We used a combination of pig ears and hooves.

The Brains of the Operation

This pumpkin is an evil genius! Get the look with a quick trip to the hardware store.

To create, carve a face into the pumpkin and remove the pumpkin's lid. Next, spray expanding foam insulation into the pumpkin's cavity. It will continue expanding as it dries, so don't fill it completely full.

Gobbling Goblin

This pumpkin's taking a bite out of our favorite holiday!

To create, choose a large pumpkin that's at least three times the size of your smaller pumpkin. Trace the area where the smaller pumpkin will sit on the larger pumpkin to ensure you carve a big enough mouth. Make the face and carve each section. Draw a face onto the small pumpkin using permanent marker. Insert the small pumpkin into the large pumpkin's mouth.

Puking Pumpkin

Trick-or-treat! You'll want to keep your candy away from this sweets-loving monster.

To create, hollow out your pumpkin and save the seeds and pulp. Next, carve a simple face with a large mouth. To get the look, place the pumpkin on your stoop and trail the seeds and pulp down the steps. We added candy and wrappers -- and a surprised onlooker -- to complete the look.

Mystic Monster

This pumpkin's gone mad! There's no magic here, just a bit of dry ice.

To create, place a jar filled with water and a piece of dry ice inside your carved pumpkin. Adding dish soap to the water will make your pumpkin look rabid.

Tip: Dry ice is available at most grocery stores.
