Waltz your way through pumpkin-carving season by making these toe-tapping witch leg pumpkins. With our free stencil and detailed instructions, it's surprisingly easy to paint and etch her striped stockings and super-cute shoes. (No seriously, where did she buy those?)
Tall, slender pumpkins work well for this witch's leggy look, but if you only have short pumpkins, just resize the stencil with a photocopier to fit. For a fun variation, tip your hat to a film classic by painting the witch's shoes red and placing the pumpkins at the bottom edge of your house's siding.
1. Log in to BHG.com to download and print our free pattern; resize the patterns with a photocopier to better fit your pumpkins. Tape the patterns onto two tall pumpkins, and use a pin tool to poke holes along the stencil lines. Keep pin holes close together.
2. Remove the stencil, and use a gouge to etch alternating stocking stripes. Keep gouged stocking stripes narrow.
3. Paint the shoes and the wide, nonetched stocking stripes black. Tie two lengths of grosgrain ribbon into bows, and use a straight pin to attach each bow to a shoe.
