This light-hearted guy looks good no matter what color he's wearing. Orange pumpkins are traditional, but don't stop there! Jazz up your pumpkin-carving projects by using gourds in unexpected shades, like dotted greens or grayish-blues, for a truly eye-catching display.
1. Click on the button above and log in to BHG.com to download our free stencil. (Create an account with us, if you haven't already registered. Registration is also free!) Print out the stencil pattern, resizing it if necessary to better fit your pumpkin.
2. Affix the printed stencil to the side of your hollowed-out pumpkin with clear tape, and poke along the stencil lines with a large nail to create closely spaced holes. Remove the stencil after poking all lines.
3. Use a specialty pumpkin-carving knife or a thin wood-cutting knife to saw along the poked holes. Remove excess pumpkin pieces by popping them out with your fingers, revealing the design.
