Are you seeking an inquisitive pumpkin stencil? Does the design below seem intriguing? Did you know this stencil pattern (along with hundreds of others on BHG.com) is completely free to download? Then honestly, what are you waiting for?
What should you do if your pumpkin's carved edges are ragged? Good question! We correct minor carving errors by skimming along the edges with a triangular-head clay-modeling tool. Just wipe away the trimmed bits with a paper towel.
1. Access our free question-mark stencil pattern by signing in to BHG.com. (If you haven't registered with us yet, don't worry -- registration is free, too!) Print out the stencil and affix it to the side of your hollowed-out pumpkin with tape, smoothing the paper as you tape it down.
2. Use a pin tool or wooden skewer to trace the pattern onto the pumpkin's exterior. To trace, just pierce closely spaced holes along the pattern lines, keeping holes within 1/8" of each other for best results.
3. Tear off the pattern, and saw along the holes with a skinny, serrated knife. Press on carved pieces to dislodge them and throw them in the trash.
4. Wipe carved surfaces with a thin coat of petroleum jelly to keep your gourd hydrated.
