Griffin Pumpkin Stencil
Some say the griffin, a mythological cross between a lion and an eagle, was a noble animal that guarded troves of gold. We think this lovely griffin stencil, with its commanding profile and golden backlighting, certainly fits that definition. Download our free stencil to make your own elegant griffin pumpkin.
Unlike many other pumpkin stencils, there's no need to grab an etching tool to create this striking griffin -- a sharp carving knife is all you need! Check Halloween supply stores for specialty pumpkin-carving knives; they have skinny, serrated blades designed to cut tight designs.
1. Attach your printed griffin stencil to a hollowed-out pumpkin with clear tape.
2. Use a large pin tool to poke holes through the paper into the pumpkin's skin, following along the stencil lines. Remove the paper stencil.
3. Carve the stencil lines, using the pin pricks as a cutting guide.
4. Illuminate your pumpkin's interior with a candle.
