Create Simple Cat Halloween Treat Boxes

Fill these cat-theme containers with Halloween treats for guests. A printable label makes them quick and easy to make.

What You Need:

For all containers: &#9679White card stock &#9679 Scalloped-edge scissors

For box: &#9679 Small paper mache box &#9679 Fine-grit sandpaper &#9679 Acrylic paint: orange and black &#9679 Sponge paintbrush &#9679 Artist's paintbrush &#9679 Double-sided tape &#9679 Black pom-pom fringe

For jar: &#9679 Glass canister with lid &#9679 Scalloped-edge scissors &#9679 Double-sided tape

For candy cracker: &#9679 Empty toilet-paper roll &#9679 Fine-grit sandpaper &#9679 Acrylic paint: orange and black &#9679 Artist's paintbrush &#9679 Scalloped-edge scissors

How to Make It:

  1. Download the label, print it onto white card stock, and trim with scalloped-edge scissors for each project.
  2. Box: Lightly sand the surfaces of the papier-mache box; wipe off dust. Paint the inside of the box and lid black; let dry.
  3. Paint the outside of box and lid orange; let dry.
  4. Lightly sand the edges of the lid. Tape the label to the lid.
  5. Dip the handle end of the paintbrush in black paint, and paint dots around the label.
  6. Glue black pom-pom fringe around the edges of the lid.
  7. Jar: Tape the label to the side of the jar.
  8. Candy cracker: Lightly sand the toilet-paper roll with sandpaper; wipe off dust.
  9. Paint the inside of the roll orange; let dry.
  10. Paint the outside of the roll black; let dry.
  11. Tape the label to the roll.
  12. Dip the handle end of the paintbrush in orange paint, and paint dots around the label.
