How to Make a Halloween Flower Pot
- Paper to protect the surface
- Crafts adhesive E6000
- Plastic creepy-crawlies
- Terra-cotta flower pots
- Disposable plastic container & spoon
- Measuring cup & measuring spoon (clean immediately after using)
- Flat off-white latex paint
- Plaster of Paris
- 1 or 2-inch paintbrush
Step 1: Prepare Your Pots
Spread paper over your work surface. Use crafts adhesive to attach plastic creepers to clean, dry terra-cotta pots. Arrange the bugs in a pattern or scatter them across the pot. We used a mix of spiders and centipedes but try adding other bugs like beetles, flies, and worms. Set aside and let the glue dry completely.
Step 2: Create Paint Mix
In plastic container combine 2 cups flat off-white latex paint, 5 Tbsp. plaster of Paris, and 3 Tbsp. water. Mix until well combined. Use a paintbrush to cover pots with the plaster mixture and let it dry completely. Apply two more coats. Let pots dry completely between each coat. Fill the finished pots with dramatic easy-to-grow houseplants like succulents. Try clustering the finished pots on the table or mantel for a creepy Halloween centerpiece.
