Cut the bat pattern from black card stock or construction paper; keep in mind that if you're planning to carry candy in the treat cone, you'll want to use a heavier paper to avoid ripping. When the pattern is cut, score the dashed line with a crafts knife to make folding easier. To fold the bat into the cone shape, bring the left wing under the right wing and to the right side of the bat cone. Secure with double-sided tape or hot glue.
To turn the black cone into a spooky bat, use a gold, silver or white paint pen to add details to the bat's face and wings. Then, use a hole punch to add a hole at each of the two Xs as noted on the pattern. Cut a length of ribbon or twine (we used a 10-inch length of twine) and thread each end through one of the punched holes on either side of the cone. Then, knot the twine to secure the twine, and your bat is ready to collect candy!
