Are begonias a perennial plant or an annual flower?

There are no perennial begonias. There are forms that make great houseplants and will grow year-round indoors, but outdoors the plants are all unable to tolerate frost.

I live in Northern NJ highlands. My Grandson bough me a begonia for Mother’s Day in 2017. I planted it outside in a large pot. I just noticed it has come back with many small plants. One is even flowering. It seems to have reseeded itself.

I would like for you to see the begonias in my yard right 8b...came back from last year and usually do return unless we have a freak once in ten year ice or snow storm.
