Simple plastic pots transform into wall art with this easy plant hanger project. Wood lattice is the perfect surface on which to hang pots with zip ties, and it adds classic garden charm to any blank wall. This project can be finished in a few hours and can be customized with any stain, paint, and plastic pot.
Lay pots on top of wooden lattice to help determine size. Allow at least 6 inches between the pots so plants have room to grow. Ours is 4 feet x 34-1/4 inches. Cut lattice using the lattice grid as a guide. Use a sanding sponge and file to knock off rough and splintered areas after cutting lattice to size. Sand the surface of the lattice to prep for staining or painting.
Sandwich the lattice between two pieces of 1 x 2-inch boards at the top and bottom edges. Glue with wood glue and nail in place for extra support. Stain lattice and wood edges as desired.
Loop and connect the end of a zip tie through the lattice. Sit a pot in the loop and adjust it to fit the pot and hold it tight to the lattice. Repeat for all pots.
Hold up lattice frame and mark where it should go on the wall. Attach the lattice to a wall with wood screws or other appropriate attachments determined by the type of wall. Use a level and adjust as needed.
