A small metal table becomes a fountain by dropping in a plastic planter bowl and dressing up both pieces with spray paint. A submersible pump and attached fountain bring the waterworks to life. Glass balls glisten under the water and conceal the pump.
What You Need
- Small metal table
- Adhesive plastic bumper pads
- Plastic bowl (be sure the diameter of the bowl is equal to the diameter of the metal table)
- Weather-resistant heavy-duty glue
- Water pump
- Zip ties
- Decorative glass balls
- Extension cord (if needed)
Step 1: Make Base
Before making the base of your fountain, add plastic bumpers to the top of the table. The top of the table will become the bottom once this project is complete. The plastic bumpers will keep your fountain from slipping and sliding.
Flip table upside down so the tabletop is facing the ground. Apply glue to the rim of the table and insert bowl. This will be the base of your fountain. Let dry completely.
Step 2: Add Pump
Insert water pump into plastic bowl. Feed power cord out of bowl. Secure the pump's power cord to the metal table using zip ties. This step will ensure that the water pump in your fountain remains secure.
Step 3: Decorate
Gently add decorative glass balls to bowl and arrange so the water pump is no longer visible. Fill the fountain base with water and turn on water pump. Your bubbling garden fountain is now complete!
