Great Planter Idea: Transform a Birdbath

Breathe new life into an old birdbath by making it into a beautiful planter. All you need is a little TLC, and your favorite succulents or cacti.

How to turn a cracked concrete birdbath into a 'tweet succulent planter.

Supplies:

  • Gardening gloves
  • Birdbath
  • Potting soil for cacti or add a handful of sand to regular potting soil
  • Succulents and cacti
  • Watering can

Instructions:

  1. Fill the birdbath with cacti potting soil, or just add a handful of sand to regular potting soil.
  2. Choose one large plant to be your focal point.
  3. Remove soil around the roots of that plant, and place in the center of the birdbath.
  4. Gently pull apart the other plants and place around the center plant.
  5. Fill in with soil.
  6. Water the soil.
