Ellen Gray is an experienced food writer, covering topics such as recipes, travel, food and drink. Her baking expertise stems from over 40 years working in professional kitchens. A strong skill set, along with a passion for mentoring aspiring bakers has lead her to leadership roles in restaurants and bakeries in Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey. A student of Molly O'Neill's LongHouse Food Scholars program, Gray has contributed to SAVEUR, food52, the Jewish Food Society, MUNCHIES, HGTV, Spoonful Magazine, and other publications. Her work has been featured in print, on radio, and television.

Ellen Gray is a pastry chef, food writer, recipe developer and former restaurateur based in Maplewood, New Jersey. A regular contributor to SAVEUR and food52, Ellen develops seasonally driven recipes, researches and tests kitchen gadgetry and explores the correlation between food history and contemporary baking trends. Recipe tester for cookbook authors Kate Lebo, Aliza Green and the late Molly O'Neill, Ellen appears regularly on WAMC's (northeast public radio) "Food Friday" troubleshooting baking questions.
