Makeover Madness: Meet Jen
See what Jen, of the blog City Farmhouse and BHG Makeover Madness finalist, did for her project in the championship round of the tournament.
We had a little bit of a hiccup before, the overlay of wood was short by, like, half of an inch. [MUSIC] So, hopefully, everything goes according to plan. My name is Jennifer O'Brien, and I write a blog called City Farmhouse. This competition has been super exciting. I feel so honored to be with these group of amazing ladies. The inspiration for my dresser basically came from a long winter and wanting color and just the excitement of wanting to entertain again. Well, I had a few issues with the overlays. It seemed like it was gonna be a seamless process. I really didn't anticipate any hiccups. And then to get almost finished and to realize I was less than an inch away from completing the overlay. I just kept thinking in my mind what could I use, what could I use and all of a sudden paint stick just popped into my head and it worked out just fine. You can't even tell, so yeah I was a little panicked for awhile there. Why do I think I should win this competition? I really believe in my project because it is functional, it's classic, and it's easy. It's a really easy project that everyone can do at home, and it really transforms this ordinary piece into something extraordinary. So I guess that's the big thing I would like people to take away is anything that you see can be transformed into something else.
