[MUSIC] What is eclectic? That's a question a lot of people ask themselves. Here's what eclectic means to me. To me, eclectic means. Personal, deeply personal. Taking things that reflect you and putting them together in a bowl of [UNKNOWN]. Eclectic can have a tendency to look a little mashed up. Some tips for making it look deliberate are use a monochromatic color palette, or choose a color palette that is very clear and define and have all those elements kind of match or compliment that color. With the eclectic decor, I like to make a very deliberate focal point. And that makes it sing because if you have this vibrant focal point offset with a very neutral setting, then you create this really beautiful balance. A focal point could be a vignette. That you set up. Choose a very deliberate area. Maybe you have a chair and a side table and a little setting on that with a lot of color that sort of breaks this monochromatic rule that I'm talking about. But having that vibrant thing set in one specific space that you pass by a lot is a great place to create a focal point.
