2014 Stylemaker Challenge: Gallery Wall
We put three home bloggers to the test in our recent Stylemaker Challenge: create a gallery wall on a budget and a tight deadline. See how they did and the surprise twist they had to face.
It's always good to have options. I'm in the zone. I'm feeling good. Hi bloggers, I hope you all are thinking really big, because today you'll be creating a gallery wall, and styling these small spaces. You will have one hour of prep today, and five hours of prep tomorrow, to finish the vignette. But here's the catch. You will not be able to use a hammer and nails. So we have a car downstairs waiting to take you to Michael's. You will have 45 minutes of shopping with a $200 budget and your time starts right now. [MUSIC] [INAUDIBLE] [MUSIC] I can't find a blasted thing. Excuse me, do have vinyl? No? No. Oh, okay. Guess not. Oh! That's what I want. That's what I thought you needed. [LAUGH] Attention BHD bloggers,. your 45 minutes are up, please come to the registers for check out. High five, we made it, yay, we made it. My total price was 196. 189.86. [MUSIC] I think I'm a little more worried coming into day two than I was at the end of day one. I have [MUSIC] Haven't given up hope on my lamp. So I'm hoping that the 16 pounder Command strips will hold it. Time is going to be my biggest challenge for sure just because there's so much to do. And. It's not a lot of time to do it. I'm having a little bit of trouble with my shelves. I'm really scared they're gonna fall down, because I was originally gonna to use screws, but now I have to use the command strip, so I have about eight on here. Hello. How are you? Good. I came on in to see the progress. I feel that Jen really has it together. She has a great mix of products. It looks really modern cool. Sarah what do we have over here? Well I have some shelfs here that I brought from home. I'm a little concerned about them sticking. Sarah on the other hand. She's struggling right now with the three a.m. command hooks and I'm really hoping for her that. She's able to pull it off. Besides that, I love the watercolor's they're great looking. This is an old frame from my Grandmother's. I love the mix of the design with the greek key. Love that. Stacy, you're very busy over here. Stacy, I think she's pulling it together. I think her idea of using natural elements is working well, but the flimsy card board box with the heavy jars in it. I'm a little panicked about that for her. I think we're good. Put your tools down guys, hope you're ready. [MUSIC] Honestly I couldn't be happier. Winning the BHG style challenge is just more than I could imagine. It's, you know, something I've always dreamed of, something like this and I'm just so honored. Then grateful to be here and have this experience
