The wait is over! IKEA finally released its 2019 catalog, and it’s brimming with home decor we love. Expect to find sleek designs, muted colors, and IKEA’s signature build-it-yourself furniture from cover to cover. The catalog continues the hygge trend (which emphasizes all things cozy), making it your go-to decor destination as the autumn months creep closer and closer.

Known for its clean and simple Swedish design aesthetic, IKEA is a natural fit for the hygge trend. Rising in popularity in late 2017, hygge is a Scandinavian way of life that revolves around coziness. Piling your sofa with pillows is as hygge as sipping a cup of tea. The vignettes in the 2019 catalog show families relaxing in homes filled with houseplants and soft textiles. We want to hop right into a scene from its pages. Check out a few products we love and that are guaranteed to make your life cozier.

LANDSKRONA Sofa — $599

What’s the point of furniture that doesn't beckon you to sit down, lean back, and get cozy. The LANDSKRONA series features tufted sofas, chairs, and loveseats with enough cushion to support lounging all day or night. We love the seafoam green and dark gray colors for the way they work with most styles. Customize the shape of your sofa and choose between retro-style wood or metal legs.

VADHOLMA Kitchen Storage — $548

If you want to make hygge a way of life, start in the kitchen. After all, that's where baked goods and hot cups of coffee begin. Give yourself a little more space to prep meals with this freestanding kitchen island and rack. Equipped with a butcher block-style top and plenty of hanging storage for utensils and pans, this furniture piece will give even beginner chefs the confidence to get creative in the kitchen. Pasta, anyone?

EGENTID Tea Series — $3.95-$4.94 each

Furniture and blankets aren’t the only things you need to achieve peak hygge. Fuel your body with herbal tea and warm yourself up from the inside out. The name of the tea, EGENTID, translates to “time on your own” in Swedish, and you certainly deserve it. In such attractive packaging, this sustainable tea series will look lovely displayed on your kitchen shelves. Flavors include lemongrass, peppermint and cocoa, and black chai with ginger and elderberries.

BESTA VASSVIKEN Storage Combination — $210

We know that no one's home looks like it could be in a catalog. Life is messy, kids’ toys take over the living room, and we tend to hoard items more than we care to admit. An easy solution? A standing cabinet with closed doors. This new furniture piece from IKEA has a trendy honeycomb design on the doors, which stylishly hide whatever you decide to put inside.

ELDTOREL AND SKAGGORT Cushion Covers — $6.99 each

Pillows are the easiest way to instantly change a space while amping up the comfort level. Unfortunately, buying an entire set of new throw pillows can add up at the cash register. Increase your at-home hygge the inexpensive way by purchasing new cushion covers that slide right over your existing ones. Plus, IKEA’s 2019 collection has plenty of throw pillows that feature gorgeous brushstroke prints and playful polka-dots.

GLITTRIG Candlesticks — $19.99/set of 3

The flicker of candlelight enhances time spent snuggling up on your sofa. These GLITTRIG candlesticks are simple yet eye-catching and will improve the look of any living space. Their gold top and base catch the flicker of the flames for a magical glittering effect. Bonus: Move them to your table for a centerpiece your dinner party guests will love.

STRANDMON Wing Chair — $279

With the comeback of midcentury-modern design, we're excited to see the revival of classic furniture silhouettes. Returning to the IKEA catalog, and in a new color, is the STRANDMON wing chair. Dark green-blue velvet makes the cozy chair even more inviting and the winged sides look fit for a queen. Paired with a matching ottoman for $99, the dreamy seating is the perfect finishing touch to a reading nook.

I love shopping at IKEA. If you've ever had the pleasure of traveling to Scandinavia you know the comfort of their furniture.

Can't say there is much of anything is those photos I even like. Guess I won't be needing the catalog then!
