Mirrors make a room appear larger and also up the sophistication of a space. While a large framed mirror can cost you up to three digits, a DIY thrifted mirror can look just as nice at a fraction of the cost. With our help, you can perk up a clearance-find mirror with just a few strips of tape and your favorite color of spray paint.

What You Need

  • Large frameless mirror
  • Painters tape
  • White spray paint
  • Parchment paper

Step 1: Prep Mirror

Clean mirror. Tape parchment paper over center. (Our mirror was 30x30 inches, and we left a 3-inch border around it.)

Step 2: Tape Border

Use painters tape to make striped border (this also helps adhere the parchment paper), wrapping tape around back of mirror by 1-2 inches.

Step 3: Spray Paint

Spray paint over border and let dry slightly. Remove the tape and parchment paper before the paint is completely dry to prevent peeling.
