Ruffles and Roses

Dress up a window treatment with versatile ruffles and easy fabric flowers. This sophisticated, tone-on-tone treatment started as a white sheet set. Cut to fit and sewn with a rod pocket at the top, the sheets feature rosettes made with a basting stitch and simple but sweet ruffles.

Laid-Back Lace

Lace doesn't have to be fussy or fancy to make a style statement. Here, pretty floral doilies dyed blue pop against gauzy white curtain panels. Take this fabric flower window treatment a step further by dipping the ends into metallic paint for a touch of sparkle.

It's a Cinch

Rethink a Roman shade with a pretty fabric rosette. Cut a 4-1/2×48-inch strip of fabric. Press it in half lengthwise, then coil the strip into a rosette shape and hand-stitch it to a circle of interfacing. Top-stitch through the center of the rosette and trim away excess interfacing. Pin the rosette to the curtain for a fresh floral window feature.
