What You'll Need

  • 2 cut fabric rectangles (make them equal size)
  • Iron-on adhesive
  • Hook-and-loop fastener
  • Sewing machine and thread
  • Iron

Step 1: Apply Fastener

On the patterned side of your pouch, apply a strip of hook-and-loop fastener with iron-on adhesive. The fastener doesn't need to cover the entire length of the bag.

Step 2: Iron the Adhesive

Flip the pouch side over and fold down the top edge so the hook-and-loop fastener is showing. Iron-on the adhesive and velcro. Press firmly and use even pressure to create the best seal.

Step 3: Sew It Closed

While the pouch is inside out, sew the sides closed using a basic stitch. We left 1/4" from edge to create a clean side.

Don't have a sewing maching? Hand sew the sides closed or use a iron-on adhesive to secure.

Fun Idea: Color with Fabric Markers

For a fun DIY or party favor, try using patterned canvas to create the pouch. Color with fabric markers during the party and have guests take home their creations.
