- Cool Crochet from Bernat (Art. 161074); 70% cotton; 30% nylon; 1-3/4 oz. (50 g); 200 yds. (182 m); DK weight.
- 1 ball #74315 Amethyst
Hook & Extras
- Size F/5 (3.75 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Blunt-end yarn needle
- 5 shells and 10 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in pat. Take time to check your gauge.
- Shell: 2 dc, ch 1, and 2 dc in next st.
Ch 60. Row 1 (RS): Shell in 5th ch from hook, *sk next 3 ch, shell in next ch; rep from * to last 3 ch, sk next ch, dc in last ch; turn. Row 2: Ch 3, *shell in ch-1 sp of next shell; rep from * across, end with dc in top of turning ch; turn. Rep last row 5 more times. Do not fasten off; cont for edging.
EDGING Work 8 sc down short end of Headband to gather side, work one shell at base of each shell along foundation row, then work 8 sc up opposite short side; turn.
TIE (make 2)
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each of next 8 sc; turn. Rep last row until Tie measures 8 inches. Fasten off. Join yarn with sl st to opposite side and work another Tie. With blunt-end yarn needle, weave in ends.
