What you need

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun

Materials

  • Wood blocks
  • Foam sheet
  • Fabric paint
  • Cloth napkins and dish towels

How to do it

Step 1 Stamp making

Before the linens can be stamped, the stamps have to be made. Cut out a triangle from the foam sheet, which will be the ice cream cone. Glue that triangle to one side of the wood block. Cut a circle from the foam sheet. The circle will be the ice cream scoops. Glue it to another side of the wood block. For different color options, make multiple ice cream “circles” and adhere them to multiple sides of the wood block.

Step 2 Stamping

Before stamping fabric, protect your crafting surface by adding a layer of butcher or parchment paper behind the fabric. Use a small paintbrush to apply a thin coat of paint to the triangle shape. Stamp the ice cream cone onto the linens. When the cones are done, pick the first color of your ice cream and apply it to the stamp. Carefully line up the circle stamp to the stamped triangles and stamp to complete the ice cream image.

Step 3 Gifting

Once they're completely dry you're ready to gift your finished towels or napkins. Wrap them up and include them in an ice cream-theme gift basket. Include all the fixings for a summer dessert, including ice cream, cones, sprinkles, and a scoop. They also make lovely hostess gifts and DIY party favors.
