Seashell Medley

Bring the ambience of glistening surf and sun-drenched sand indoors by using seashells as candleholders.

What You Need:

Nestle votive candles into this lovely seashell arrangement.
  • Seashell
  • Candle mold sealer
  • Utility knife
  • 2 votive candles
  • Glass jar
  • Saucepan
  • 3-1/2-inch wick with clip (or longer if shell stands tall)
  • Pot holder

1. Fill the seashell with water to check for leaks. Fill any holes with candle mold sealer. Cut the votive candles into pieces. Remove and discard the wicks. Place the wax pieces in a glass jar. 2. Fill a saucepan with 2 inches of water. Place the glass jar into the water. Over medium heat, bring the water to boiling. Boil the water until the wax melts. Never leave melting wax on the stove unattended. 3. Place the 3-1/2-inch wick in the shell and secure it with candle mold sealer. Prop up the seashell if necessary. Using a pot holder, carefully pour the liquefied wax into the shell and allow it to solidify. It may be necessary to pour a bit more liquefied wax into the shell after the first amount hardens.
