What You'll Need

A few supplies and fresh flowers is all it takes to create this gorgeous garland.

  • Heavy-gauge florist wire
  • Shears
  • Florist tape
  • Flowers and greenery

Step 1

Start bundling your leaves and foliage. The fullness of your bundles and the number of bundles needed will depend on length and what you are going for. Wrap the bundles with florist wire and begin layering them.

Step 2

Arrange your greenery bundles, making sure to overlap each bundle to create a joining point. Secure with florist wire and cover with floral tape. The last bundle should be placed with the greenery facing out to form the end of the garland.

Step 3

Wrap flower stems with floral wire, leaving extra to secure to the garland. Add a flower to each bundle of greenery by the twisting the wire at the base of each stem around the stems of your greenery. Use the blooms to fill in gaps in the garland.

Use large blooms like lilies, peonies, and roses.

Dust off excess pollen with a damp cloth.

Display Your Garland!

Once you've created your garland, display it on a buffet or as the centerpiece of your next party table. Feel free to mix it up based on season and occasion. Try adding in blooms from your garden or even fresh herbs and succulents.
