Joy to the world—wine Advent calendars are back in stock! If you haven't seen these boozy countdowns yet, they're exactly what they sounds like: These are traditional-style Advent calendars, but instead of discovering Chocolate or candy behind the perforated doors, you'll be greeted with 24 days of wine. Holly jolly, indeed!

Adults-only Advent calendars have been on the rise the past few years: In 2018 and 2019, the Aldi wine calendar was so popular it sold out within minutes of the store opening. And we're not the only ones jumping on this boozy trend: According to Google Trends, searches for 'wine advent calendar' have risen by 1900% over the last four years.

Since it's fa-la-la-la-finally Advent calendar season again, we've rounded up all the best ones available in the U.S so you can mark your regular calendar with their release dates, or add the already-on-sale calendars to your cart ASAP. After all, after the year we've had, we could all use a glass of wine or two—or 24.

Yes, one of the most popular wine Advent calendars on the market is coming back for 2020. This famous Advent calendar was available for the first time in the U.S. in 2018, and Aldi fans’ excitement is clear—it's completely sold out within minutes of hitting shelves for the past two years. If you’re prepared to camp outside your local Aldi to snag one this year, head to stores for their release on November 4 (even earlier than last year!). Cross your fingers, and you might be able to grab one of their boxes filled with 24 mini bottles of red, white, bubbly, and rosé. If they're sold out, not to worry—they've also got a hard seltzer Advent calendar and a beer version, too.

What’s inside: Twenty-four mini bottles of red, white, rosé, and sparkling options from a variety of regions.

Price: $70

Available: In stores November 4. Keep in mind the calendar isn't sold in certain states due to local liquor laws, so call your Aldi ahead of time to confirm they'll have it.

Vinebox has a few countdown calendar options for wine-lovers this year. Back in 2017, their 12-wine calendar sold out in just a few weeks, so if you want to order the 2020 edition, add it to your cart ASAP. This year's 12 Nights of Wine calendar features a "home for the holidays theme," meaning they've chosen wines that are perfect for enjoying at home on the couch while you're social distancing. Plus, the ultra-sleek design of the wine bottles will make you feel like the fanciest of holiday parties, even if you're drinking in your sweatpants.

What’s Inside: 12 bold reds and rich whites.

Price: $129

Available: Shipping begins the week of October 12.

Don’t let the company name fool you, there’s no beer here. (Though that option does exist if it’s more your speed.) And no itty-bitty bottles, either. Each bottle in this box is 375 ml—the size of a split of sparkling wine! Back for 2020, the wine Advent calendar from Give Them Beer is one of our favorites each year because it’s got bottles large enough for sharing. In 2017 their beer Advent calendar sold out in just a few weeks, so don’t expect this one to be around forever either—and once it’s sold out, that’s it for the year.

What’s Inside: Twelve 375 ml bottles of reds, whites, and splits of sparkling wines from well-known wineries around the world, such as Ruffino, The Pinot Project, and Stemarri.

Price: $169

Available: Available online now with mid-November shipping.

Since traditional ugly Christmas sweater parties are a no-go this year due to social distancing guidelines, head to Cost Plus World Market to pick up their 12 Days of Wine calendar. The box is decorated in classic holiday sweater designs to help you get into the Christmas spirit each day. We love the box design of this wine Advent calendar because it sticks to tradition—each day, you can open a tiny cardboard window and pull out your treat for the day. While you can't buy the calendar online, it's available in stores now, and you can even place an order for contactless curbside pickup at select locations.

What’s Inside: 12 mini bottles (187ml) featuring 12 different wines.

While there isn't a specific advent countdown here, this pack is a great one to consider. No matter how you celebrate the holidays this season, consider bringing this pack of 12 or 24 to a gathering (or using it as a countdown calendar for yourself). The wine is made in small batches without any artificial preservatives or added sugar, which helps keep your sips flavorful—and keep the possible wine-induced headache away.

What's Inside: 12 or 24 pack of 187-milliliter bottles (one large glass) with a variety of brut, red, and rosé.

Price: $96 for 12, $192 for 24

Available: Currently sold out, but you can sign up to be notified when it's back in stock.

You could easily get all of your Christmas shopping done at Costco (they have everything, after all), but this year you'll want to add something to the cart for yourself too. For $100, you'll get 24 half bottles of wine from all over the world. The superstore carried a version of these calendars last year, and we heard nothing but good things about the wine (and this year, you can see what all the kinds are on the back of the box!). Pick up some bulk cheese and grapes while you're in the store for the ultimate month-long wine and cheese spree.
