You won't believe how easy it is to create these adorable faces. We just can't get over how cute they are! With a few pinecones and some felt accessories, a village of adorable pinecone people will be brightening your holidays in no time.
What You'll Need
- Mod Podge
- 1/2-inch to 1-inch wood beads
- Thin paint pens or permanent (pink, red, black)
- Pipe cleaners
- Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
- Mini pom-poms
Step 1: Friendly Faces
Use a paintbrush to add a light coat of Mod Podge to a wood bead (this will keep ink from seeping into the wood and spreading). Once the Mod Podge dries, use paint pens or permanent markers to give your pinecone pals bright, smiling faces.
Step 2: Add the Pinecone
Cut a 3-inch section from a pipe cleaner and wrap it in a loop to give your pinecone person a bright winter scarf. If you're feeling really festive, twist two pipe cleaners together to create a multicolor scarf. Glue the wood head onto the scarf loop, then glue both to the pinecone. Now it's time to accessorize!
Step 3: Accessorize!
For the hat, use the downloadable pattern to cut a cone shape from bright felt. Cut an 8-inch piece of ribbon and tie the ends together, gluing the knot in the center of the cone shape. Get creative: Give your pinecone people a whimsical touch by using different colors for the scarf, hat, and ribbon.

Step 4: Finishing Touches
Add hot glue around the base of the felt hat and attach it to the head. Glue a mini pom-pom to the hat's point for a festive finish. Hang your pinecone pals on the tree or tie to wrapped presents as a cute bonus gift for a friend!
