2. Using butcher paper or newsprint, enlarge the envelope pattern so that the inner box measure 9-1/4 x 8-3/4 inches.

3. For each envelope, cut 1 pattern from the plastic. Fold in the sides of the envelope and attach the points at the center with a few machine stitches. (Slip tissue paper under the plastic and over the machine's feed dogs for smooth, nonstick sewing).

4. Fold up the bottom of the envelope. With a few stitches, sew a 1/2-inch piece of the fastening tape over the previous stitches in the outside of the envelope, sewing through all 3 layers of plastic. On the inside of the top flap, attach the other side of the fastening tape (see pattern for Xs). On the outside of the flap, sew an applique to hide the nylon fastener.

5. To prevent the cookie from breaking in the envelope, cover a 9-1/4 x 8-3/4-inch piece of thin cardboard with wrapping paper. Slip the cardboard and cookie inside the envelope; tape closed.
